FASTAX FAQ

Here are some questions that have been asked of FASTAX. If you have aquestion that's not here, please e-mail me. You'll always get a reply, hopefully with your answer.

The FASTAX Study Guide has 1500 questions, answers, and explanations.

WHAT ABOUT THE PASS RATE?
Many vendors of study material claim a pass rate of 70% or higher. FASTAX makes no such claim and considers the claims of others suspect. In 1992, when I took and passed all four parts of the exam, I purchased material from one of these vendors. The vendor did not ask me to report my scores and I did not volunteer them. On what basis do they make their claims?

In its early years, FASTAX attempted to survey customers to learn of their success and to get tips for improvement of the study guide. Even with a stamped self-addressed envelope enclosed for the reply, response was less than 50%. Regard the claims of others with some doubt.

A friend once said "The death rate hasn't changed since the dawn of history. It's still one per person." The same can be said about the pass rate. For you, it's either 100% or zero. Choose study material that will make it 100%.

ARE ANY FREE STUDY MATERIALS AVAILABLE?
IRS publications, forms and their instructions, can be downloaded from www.irs.gov or obtained from IRS taxpayer assistance centers.

FASTAX knows of no source for free material that includes explanations of correct answers and specific references.
